Posted by Credit Card Posts as Bad Credit, Secured Credit Cards
For those of you wondering “How do I get a credit card with bad credit”, you’re in luck as I’m going to tell you exactly what you need to do.
If you find yourself in this position, you need to be focused on improving your credit rating so more options will be available. An easy way to do this is to apply for a credit card at the local stores where you do most of your shopping. Retail store cards are usually pretty easy to obtain and they can help you rebuild your credit by making timely payments.
Another option for getting a credit card with bad credit is to apply for a secured credit card. Secured credit cards will allow you to deposit funds with a card issuer, and begin using their card against that balance. While this may not seem like a very attractive option, it will allow you to take advantage of the convenience that credit cards offer and rebuild your credit at the same time.
If all else fails, you could ask a close friend or family member to co-sign for the card. For obvious reasons, I would choose this option only as a last resort.
Hopefully this has given you some ideas on how to get a credit card, even with bad credit. Remember that rebuilding your credit rating should be your top priority…
